Networking
Although I do not consider myself a network engineer, I have a significant amount of background in this area. My understanding of TCP/IP networking and the OSI model that describes it is very solid. I understand what takes place at the various layers of the network and what network devices and technologies work at those respective layers.
I have setup firewall interfaces and VPN boxes, examined routing tables, and have a fairly solid understanding of the internet and how it operates. Indeed, I managed the utilization of many of these resources as Director of Web Development at MedAmerica.
Below is a list of my networking certifications.
-
Juniper Networks Internet Associate (JNCIA)
-
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
-
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
Like most techies, I have done my share of network troubleshooting and have used many of the network tools for performing this sort of work ("net-" commands, traceroute, ipconfig, nslookup, etc.)
